Nachdem ihre Schwester Ju-hee (HAN Su-ah) spurlos aus ihrer Wohnung verschwunden ist, beschließt die schwerhörige Ju-young (LEE Sun-bin) in ihre Wohnung einzuziehen, um den Grund für ihr Verschwinden herauszufinden. Unterstützt wird sie dabei von Ju-hees Freund, Ki-hoon (KIM Min-seok). Kurz nach ihrem Einzug in die Wohnung wird Ju-young von dem Bewohner der Wohnung unter ihr konfrontiert, der sich über die lauten Geräusche aus ihrer Wohnung beschwert. Und als sie dann auch noch beginnt, eine mysteriöse Präsenz in ihrer Wohnung wahrzunehmen, fängt sie an zu bezweifeln, dass ihre Schwester unter normalen Umständen verschwunden ist…
In ihrem Langfilmdebüt setzt die Regisseurin KIM Soo-jin gekonnt die Klaustrophobie koreanischer Apartmentgebäude in Szene und legt dabei auf ein besonderes Sounddesign Wert. Ein absolutes Must-see für alle Horrorfans!
After her sister Ju-hee (HAN Su-ah) disappears from her apartment without a trace, Ju-young (LEE Sun-bin), who has a hearing impairment, decides to move into her apartment to find out why she disappeared. Ju-hee’s boyfriend, Ki-hoon (KIM Min-seok), helps her. Shortly after moving in, Ju-young is confronted by the resident of the apartment below her, who complains about the loud noises coming from her place. And when she begins to sense a mysterious presence in her apartment, she starts to doubt that her sister disappeared under normal circumstances…
In her feature film debut, director KIM Soo-jin skillfully portrays the claustrophobia of Korean apartment buildings and creates an unique atmosphere through the film’s sound-design. An absolute must-see for all horror fans!
