After the death of their mother, the sisters Su-mi (IM Soo-jeong) and Su-yeon (MOON Geun-young) live with their father Mu-hyeon (KIM Kap-soo) and stepmother Eun-ju (YUM Jung-ah) in a large house in the country. The rural idyll is disturbed when strange things start to happen. At night a ghost seems to haunt the mansion and stepmother Eun-ju also behaves very strangely. The sisters suspect that something happened in the house in the past that no one talks about now.
A Tale of Two Sisters is considered a classic of modern South Korean cinema and has long since stopped to be an insider tip among international horror film fans. The film has even seen a US remake: The Uninvited hit theaters in 2009. Director KIM Jee-woon is one of South Korea’s best-known directors.
