Eun-ja (JEONG Ae-hwa) arbeitet auf dem Feld und ist mit ihrem Leben alles andere als zufrieden. Pal-bok (GI Joo-bong) ist ein rastloser Vagabund, der in einem alten Auto voller Krimskrams lebt und fremde Häuser ausraubt. Bei ihrer ersten Begegnung schenkt er ihr eine Schachtel Zigaretten. Beim zweiten Mal versucht er, sie auszurauben. Doch statt Geld bekommt er eine Gefährtin, die ihm auf ihrer nun gemeinsamen Reise folgt. Zusammen ziehen sie umher und brechen in Häuser ein. Vor allem jedoch lernen sie mehr und mehr über sich selbst.
In seinem Debütfilm nimmt Regisseur KIM Tae-hwi die Zuschauer*innen mit auf eine Reise durch die malerische Provinz Jeonbuk. Ein Duo erfahrener Darsteller*innen, JEONG Ae-hwa und GI Joo-bong, bilden den Kern dieses originellen und charmanten Roadmovies über Einsamkeit, das Leben im Hier und Jetzt und das unerwartete Finden verwandter Seelen.
Eun-ja (JEONG Ae-hwa) works in the fields and is anything but happy with her life. Pal-bok (GI Joo-bong) is a restless vagabond who lives in an old car full of junk and steals from other people’s homes. When they first meet, he gives her a pack of cigarettes. The second time, he tries to rob her. But instead of money, he earns a companion who joins him on his journey. Together, they travel and burglarize, but above all, they learn more and more about themselves.
In his debut film, director KIM Tae-hwi takes the audience on a journey through the picturesque Jeonbuk Province. A duo of experienced actors, JEONG Ae-hwa and GI Ju-bong, forms the core of this original and charming road movie about loneliness, living in the here and now, and unexpectedly finding one’s soulmates.
