Following the success of The Outlaws (2017), detective MA Seok-do (MA Dong-seok) returns to the big screen in The Roundup. Together with his colleague JEON Il-man (CHOI Gwi-hwa), he is supposed to transfer a South Korean suspect from Vietnam back to South Korea. The task, which initially seemed simple, takes a turn. In Vietnam, the detectives learn that the South Korean KANG Hae-sang (SON Suk-ku), who lives abroad, is a brutal killer. They make it their mission to stop the serial killer.
The Roundup by LEE Sang-yong is to date the most successful and highest-grossing film in Korea in 2022. The action film had almost half a million admissions on its first day. Viewers can look forward to another action-packed story starring detective MA Seok-do (MA Dong-seok). The third film in the series is already in production.
