The Killer: A Girl Deserves To Die tells the story of former hitman BANG Ui-gang (JANG Hyuk), who now enjoys a much more relaxed life after his violent past. His wife Hyeon-soo (LEE Chae-young) asks him to look after the stepdaughter of her best friend (BANG Eun-jung) while they are on vacation together in Jeju. At first reluctant, he relents and looks after Yoon-ji (LEE Soe-young) for the time being. But it’s much more difficult than previously thought. The young woman is kidnapped and BANG does everything to get her back.
Before becoming a director, CHOI was an art director for movies such as Princess Aurora (2005). The Killer: A Girl Who Deserves To Die is based on the popular novel “The Kid Deserves To Die” by Korean author BANG Ji-ho and is CHOI’s third feature film as director.
